Filing a keyway in hard steel is not easy- I found a carbide file was the only way.

Big lump on the piston tends to mask the spark plug...in fact I am having to use on the flat surface discharge types because things are so tight the piston suffers from spark erosion

Flywheel flank is relieved at the main bearings

Down in Cumbria at the weekend - bike running better but running out of power half way down strip.

watching for the stage light to change

six Ford GT 40's turned up - quite a treat

still using Enterprise vans

two of the GT 40's returning to the pits

Parked next to this spaceship at York during the weekend.

Put a page of information next to the bike as so many young chaps seem to know nothing at all about the history of Norton motorcycles.

this chap recorded 11.05 sec over the quarter mile.

have been experimenting with a so called 4 ton bottle jack to discover if the main shafts in the flywheels might move...no way ...all I get if bent bolts...looks like a job for a power press.

Well the new season has started a bit slow. I was down at the Kirkbride strip in Cumbria in April and a persistent misfire slowed me. Then on Sunday past the event at York was a complete washout.

...then I find that my hero Geoff Duke has died at the age of 92...well for a world class  racer I think his age may be a record !!

Am thinking of a better stand...I have a proper rear wheel racing stand but it fouls the rear brake rod.
