Since I will be 70 in a few months and considering that the UK has now allowed over 40 year old vehicles to be exempt of an MOT - road worthiness test- it is perhaps time to return the old girl to her original state ....
My last few years at sprinting have shown she is far too heavy for the game.

Actual National Sprint Association events are now thin on the ground in the North of England this year...hoping to do East Kirkby in Lincolnshire in June in preparation for the George Brown memorial event in August. Spending time in workshop in preparation however...

It is not obvious but the oil drain on a Norton single is not a straight drilling...due to the fact the head and the crankcase do not align due to the fact they used the same crankcase for the 350 and 500.
I acquired a very old ES2 barrel and am now boring it out to 85 mm...removed top fin and the rope under the fin is to reduce ringing when on the lathe. The cloth under it is to catch it when it comes off the chuck -at slow revs!
Plan 'B' is to fit a Vincent barrel with a spacer on the sleeve .

My own 350cc Norton which did not like the reverse cone megaphone exhaust at all.
